Last week I was at the Gellibrand BlazeAid Camp. Sadly, due to the number of camps (6) within Victoria, after our dreadful fires, there are insufficient Volunteers in the Camps. My first two days there were only three of us. There were five of us on Saturday. Overall we managed to complete three fences for the two farmers. We did dodge a fair bit of rain, but the air was fresh and clean and overall quite invigorating.
If you are out there travelling and are in the vicinity of a camp consider giving a few days volunteering in the camp. It is fun (bit of hardwork if you are out in the field) and the volunteers are amazing people. You do not need to have fencing experience, just be prepared for a bit of walking and following directions. Camps have power for your vans, amenities, mess hall and three meals per day are supplied. Locals often supply meals and food for the camp.
