On Monday night we had a short Barbeque Meeting to discuss matters around the Barbeques and the returning and cleaning up of the Trailer and equipment. It was also to say thank you to all who help out with our Barbeques. You are amazing.
Points to remember:-
When returning the trailer to the shed – please ensure that you have turned off the Gas, the hot water and water pump before travelling
The Eskys must be rinsed out and left open to dry. If not, they become very mouldy. We would be at risk of being given notice by the Health Inspector if this was noted
Please rinse out the tubs, that have the drinks and ice in them, and leave separated and upside down to dry – to prevent mould
The fridge in the Barbeque side of the trailer is a fridge and ice is not to be put in there to keep the sausages cold. The ice is for the drinks and the onions
The onions are to be kept frozen until opened. Please ensure there is plenty of ice keeping them frozen – underneath and on top
Thank you one and all and if you have any queries please contact me. Linda
Cowrie Markets
Planning for the 2026-2027 Rotary Year
The question has been asked “Do we continue to attend the Cowrie Markets”?
Issues raised were:-
That this season had not been successful for us with 2 Cancelled Markets and 3 closed early due to inclement weather
Difficulty in getting the trailer into our current location
The limited number of Rotarians who are willing to work at the Barbeques
At our next Kithbrooke Dinner Meeting, I will be asking you to vote on whether you consider we should continue with the Cowrie Market or not. Please give it some thought
