You may have seen promotions in the local paper for community grants being offered.

The board has a few of its suggestions, but I would really like to know from our creative and caring members, if they have a local cause or project they would like to see funded.

In case you missed it, check the link for the story from the surfcoast times, to see if your idea fits into their criteria. Then let one of the board, or myself know about your thoughts.

thank you.

Judy

Summary of the article published on 14 August in the paper.

Implementing sustainable service projects to strengthen ecosystems involves adopting a "nature-positive" approach that balances human needs with environmental protection, fostering resilience against climate change.

Key strategies include restoring degraded landscapes through reforestation and native species planting, enhancing water management (such as wetlands and rainwater harvesting), and promoting circular economy practices to minimize waste.

Effective projects also integrate technology for real-time monitoring and foster collaboration among stakeholders, including local communities and indigenous peoples.
