Rotary Clubs of Barwon Geelong,
I am writing to invite fellow Rotarians of your club to a fundraising event we are conducting for the Fight Cancer Foundation. This is Footy Colours.
Booking Details:
September 15th, 6.30pm for 7.00pm start. Naval Association, 90-92 Skene Street, Newtown. $25.00 for a ‘Pie & Pizza’ night. Raffle 3 tickets for $5.00, Quiz entry $5.00.
Prizes for raffle, quiz and best dressed. Wear your favourite team colours (scarf, cap, guernsey etc.) You could be a winner and help children with cancer and parents with accommodation, education and research.
This year we have we have one guest speaker, Scott Smith who was instrumental in forming Geelong Stars, a volunteer run inclusive sports club. Their programs are modified sports for people with disabilities. The sports include basketball, football, lawn bowls, pickleball, boxing, gymnastics and Learn to Ride. Their purpose is to provide people who would not be able to take part in general community sports because of their disability and to allow them to partake in modified versions of the sports and generate inclusion and friendship among people who may not have got to know each other.

Donation Details:
If you are unable to attend, you can always donate to this important cause.
To gain an understanding of the role of Fight Cancer Foundation and what it does for both children and adults, the link below, would provide you with that information. This organisation was started by the Rotary Club of Kew. Other clubs (with Kew) raised millions of dollars to establish to build the research facility—which opened as the Rotary Bone Marrow Research Centre.
The same link above will allow you to donate.
