Rotary Theme - "Lead the Way"

This year the Bulletin, our most important communication facility, was revamped through the adoption of "Club Runner". Two fireside chats brought Rotarians closer together in a social atmosphere to discuss matters and develop stronger friendships.  Our annual Christmas party and Cosy Corner fish and chips night were great fun for Rotary families of several generations.  The Nelson Park Deb Ball was a huge success with the Debs all having a very memorable night and the profit of over $1,000 was donated back to the school.  Our outbound exchange student Jessica Barker left for the United States and we co-hosted, with the Rotary Club of Grovedale, Sandra Stanjawitschjute from Germany.  Jane Saunders was sponsored to attend the RYPEN seminar.  Vocational visits were to Longboard winery and the U-Brewit brewery, which gave us an insight into the complexities of wine and beer making, and even better, wine and beer tasting. Our first annual Graeme Price Memorial Golf Day was a great fundraiser with over 80 Rotarians and friends having a great fun night.  The BBQ sausage sizzle was the usual great success in generating considerable finances and much camaraderie amongst Rotarians on the weekly roster.  We also commissioned our new BBQ trailer which was a fantastic improvement in lightening the workload. Many Rotarians turned out marshalling and BBQ cooking on ANZAC day.  This community service is very much appreciated by the crowd and especially the RSL.  Our fund raising generated $18,000 for distribution to many local and international charities.  Rotarian Rob Harris was awarded with Paul Harris Fellow recognition.
