Community efforts were the focus of the year with over $ 30000 being put back into the community.  Major efforts were $5,000 to the Torquay Surf Life Saving Club, $6,000 to assist with the provision of a skateboard park, $3,600 to the Torquay CFA, $3,000 to the Life Education Caravans.   On the International scene we donated $5,000 to the Polio Plus program and $3,000 to ROMAC.   Our fund raising efforts were outstanding raiding $ 13000 from our annual raffle, BBQ,s $14,000 and the dinner auction $6,000.  A highlight of the year was to host 11 children from the drought affected area of Hopetoun.  Another really special highlight was the Nelson Park Debutant Ball which brought untold pleasure to these young people.  We again promoted organ donor awareness and had enjoyable vocational visits to Harness Racing Club and also the SES who gave us a demonstration of their powers.   Megan Turner was sponsored to the RYLA seminar in Portland.  This year saw us awarded the District 9780 Public Relations and Media Award through our efforts with photos and stories in the "Geelong Advertiser" and the "Torquay Times".   PP Rob Emmett was awarded with a Paul Harris recognition.
