President Phil Beasley
Hello Members and Friends of Rotary. Welcome to our first club bulletin for 2023-24 Rotary Year.
Firstly, I would like to thank outgoing President Ben Featherston who has provided inspiring leadership to our club and leadership team over the past twelve months. We have benefitted enormously from his thoughtful, youthful, and professional approach to leadership and management.
Thankyou also to Kate Redman for her support to Ben, which would have made significant additional personal demands on her, in addition raising a young family and balancing their professional business requirements. Thankyou Kate!
“Creating Hope in the World” is RI President Gordon McInally’s theme for the 2023-24 Rotary Year.
I urge all members to take a little time to watch and read about RIP Gordon’s Presidential Initiatives for our year ahead:
- Prioritising Mental Health
- Building Peace Through Virtual Exchanges
- Empowering Girls
District Governor Ian McKay Theme is to Celebrate Rotary’s Difference through:
- The difference we make in our community.
- The difference we make in our world.
- The difference we make to each other in our clubs.
- Saying ‘NO’ to Family Violence in our Community
- Supporting the work of Australian Rotary Health in Youth Mental Health (0 to 12 Years)
DG Ian’s Official Visit to our Club will be on Monday 14th August, which will follow the normal format of a meeting with Board members prior to our club meeting.
At this week’s meeting at Kithbrooke, we will discuss and plan the year ahead, including preparing for the DG’s Visit.
Phil Beasley
