President's Message

Hello,

I hope everyone has had an opportunity to view the magnificent sunrises and sunsets this week as they have been magnificent.

On Monday night we met at Kithbrooke Park for a meal and to get to know one of our newer members JJ Walia.

Community Service Director Linda met with her committee prior to the meeting and they are working well as a team.  Linda also announced that a non-perishable food drive would commence from next meeting to go to Torquay Food Aid at the beginning of December. So I encourage members, family and friends to pop an extra item in the shopping basket to bring along.

John Oswald has been tireless in his efforts surrounding the Lese Olai Project and continues to bring together people and organisations to help progress the project. Well done John.

We are still looking for members to step up and take on roles – large and small to help the club run, so if you can help with the set up or pack down for dinner meetings, edit the bulletin, participate on a committee or tow the bbq trailer then please let me know.

I look forward to a great social night organised by Mike Reed at Jashn Courtyard in Bell Street. Hopefully everyone has registered as we needed numbers by Friday. If you still want to come along please let Mike know.

Food Safety Training

Could all those who help with any catering, including barbeques, please complete the Food Handling Topics on this link?
This is to ensure that correct food handling occurs at our barbeques and you understand why it is done

Also, we will be having a training session around setting up the trailer and its layout. This will be held on Thursday 18th September at 5pm at the Rotary Shed. I will continue to remind you about this session.

Lifeblood in Torquay 1-5 September

Got a bit of time next week? Time to give blood and change lives?

1 in 3 people in Torquay will need blood, and they need people like you to give it. We’re popping up in Torquay from 1 to 5 September.

Don’t forget to pre-book your spot at lifeblood.com.au, on our app or on 13 14 95.

Grocery Items - donations please

We would like to commence a collection of Non-Perishable Grocery Items to make a pre-Christmas donation to Torquay Food Aide.
Our aim is to deliver this at the beginning of December, so it can be distributed as the needed.
Please bring your donations to Rotary Meetings at Kithbrooke, where Community Service Director Linda will collect them.
