Editors' Apologies, Updated Bulletin with President's Message due to Administration Error

Gin, Games & Good Vibes! πŸΈπŸŽ‰

Hello Rotarians, Friends & Guests,
We've hit the ground running with a vibrant start to the new Rotary year β€” full of connection, inspiration, and a bit of fun along the way!
πŸ”„ District Changeover Highlights
Rotary’s annual changeover season is in full swing! A big congratulations to our very own Lesley Shedden, who handed over the District Governor role to Christine Dufty at a special ceremony in Nhill. We're proud to have had a contingent there to cheer Lesley off after a stellar DG year!
πŸ—£οΈ Week 1 – Club Assembly
At Kithbrooke Park, we kicked things off with dinner and discussion β€” a discovery session to explore what our members want this year. Big thanks to Lesley and Michelle for joining in via Teams!
πŸ’‘ Your ideas matter β€” thanks for helping shape our direction!
🀝 Building Connections
I also attended the Grovedale Waurn Ponds Changeover Dinner. Fun fact: they chartered our Club! They’re small but mighty β€” and it was inspiring to meet the founders of Foundation 61 and House of Hope. We're planning a visit later this year!
🎭 Week 2 – Bingo, Not Broadway
Due to low numbers (blame winter bugs and holidays!), we rescheduled guest speaker Kristine Mellens from the Musical Society of Geelong.
Instead, we met at Torquay Hotel for a relaxed dinner.
The next morning it was Rotary Torquay’s turn at BNI Surfcoast Connections β€” where we ditched PowerPoint for... Rotary Bingo! πŸŽ‰
πŸ‘ Shout-out to PE Sue Currie and the First Man for joining the fun!

🍸 Week 3 – Vocational Visit: GOR Gin!
We visit Great Ocean Road Gin in the Bunnings Industrial Estate. Expect:
βœ… A tour of the distillery and a history of gin making
βœ… Tastings of local botanicals
βœ… A bite to eat (finger food)
βœ… A great social night with community spirit (and spirits!)
🎟️ Bring a friend, neighbour or partner β€” all are welcome!
Time: 4.30 - 6.00pm
Address: Unit 1/8 Sawmills Way, Torquay
Cost: $10 pp for tasting and food – normal drinks at bar prices.
RSVP: 6.00pm Sunday to Kelly via text or email for catering on 0418 182 883 or kelly.binyon@torquayrotary.org.au

πŸ“Œ Quick Tips to Stay Engaged
  • βœ… Add future Club events to your calendar early
  • πŸ“· Got photos from Club events? Send them in!
  • πŸ—“οΈ Want to host a vocational visit or suggest a speaker? Let us know!
Here’s to connection, purpose and a little laughter along the way.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Kelly Binyon
President – Rotary Club of Torquay
