PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Presidents Report
Welcome to our weekly Bulletin. I trust that you have managed to stay warm. Must admit when the sun is shining it is beautiful. During recent walks through the bush, I have seen how our wildflowers are starting to bloom. Not quite as colourful as the ones Mal S has posted, but still beautiful. Makes being outdoors and in the fresh air something special
On Monday night we had an amazing presentation from Misha Coleman about Interplast. Due to the lower than required numbers, we held the meeting online. This allowed a few extras to join, so it was a good attendance. Misha is one of our Club Members as well as CEO of Interplast. We saw the before and after photos of some of the fantastic surgery that has been performed by the Interplast team (It did make me wish I was 20 years younger and could be part of the team). Misha also explained that for every $1000.00 that is donated to Interplast, the Government would match it 5:1. Wow what a difference a sizable donation could make. Something for the International Committee to think about
After the presentation I did raise the issue of BBQs, as the emails for us conducting BBQs have arrived. I did not receive very much feedback at all. May I please ask you all the think about this matter and let me know via email? I thank those Rotarians who have sent me emails since the meeting. It will be raised at Mondays Board Meeting.
Our first Board Meeting of this Rotary Year is on Monday night. There will not be a regular meeting that night.
To all those feeling a little under the weather, we hope you are soon feeling like your old self. If anyone is unwell and does require some help, please let me know and we will get help to you.
Stay safe and healthy.                                                                                     Linda

RECYCLING CORNER

Don't forget to collect any cans or bottles or tetra packs that have the 10c logo on the side.  These are taken to a rapid sorting depot in Breakwater (no need to stand at the big containers in the car park) and the funds go directly into our club fund.

This keeps our costs down, our memberships down and is helping scouts too.

It is the best way to recycle all the plastic and cans we generate.

I believe wine and milk bottles are being received too - but have to check.

If you would like a dedicated collection bag, I have quite a few to share with you. Just ask!  And bring your cans to the next BBQ or function, so I can deposit them. Or continue to recycle yourself, and nominate Torquay Rotary as your charity.
