President's Message 30 May 2026
Kelly Binyon
ACTING PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Greetings and welcome. Thank you for joining our online news and updates.
While President Kelly and Paul are enjoying travels on the Western Side of OZ, I’d like to give a brief report on this week’s activities.
This week’s club gathering was a social evening at the local restaurant Lentils. We were again looked after by their very friendly and welcoming staff as well as being treated to an awesome collection and variety of dishes. The welcoming environment had just one “downside” - the 20 members and partners in attendance were having such a good time making the most of the opportunity to have a general catch up and good old “yack” Neil had quite a challenge getting us in order and into the allocated seating. A big thank you to the staff at Lentils and to Neil for arranging another memorable event. Unfortunately, we were all having such a great time we neglected to take any photos on the night. If you couldn’t make it along, I recommend you visit Lentils to experience their gastronomic delights!
Next week we are back at the Lakehouse for a face-to-face meeting, with the online option if things go smoothly. I hope we will see a good number of members attending as this is listed as a Club Assembly. We have important information to share regarding club fees; disbursement of, and the good our fundraising efforts over the last twelve months will do for the broader community; and time to discuss members thoughts on our Club and its operations going forward.
Finally, a plug for the upcoming District Changeover. You should have received an email advising of this but here is the relevant information:
You are invited to join DG Christine Dufty and DGE Tonie Thiel and the Rotary Club of Casterton for the annual District Governor and Club President Changeover.
Held this year in Casterton, the event may require travel or overnight accommodation for some guests.
Casterton is RV friendly, with local accommodation and additional options in nearby Hamilton and Mount Gambier.
Your attendance will also support a community continuing to recover from hail damage and prolonged drought.
Cost: $76 per person, two course meal. Drinks available for purchase at venue.
Date: Sunday 28 June 2026 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM (UTC+10:30)
Location: Finlay Emporium, 21 Henty Street, Casterton Victoria 3311
