BBQS - Thank You to Our Volunteers

Bunnings Barbeques

Thank you to those who helped out at the two Bunnings Barbeques this last week. Also thank you to those who also offered to help.

Without you all we would not be able to run these Barbeques.

We took just over $1400 on Sunday and $599 on Friday, there are still expenses to come out.

Thank you one and all.

Linda

Community Services and Environment Meeting

Community Services and Environment Meeting

Judy and I have joined forces and will hold a joint meeting at 5.30pm, at Kithbrooke on 15th September.

Community Services and Environment are closely linked and we will see how we can work together to achieve the best for our community.

Look forward to seeing you there with your ideas.

Linda

Our Village

Our Village

On October 13th we have a Vocational visit to Our Village. At the Community Services Meeting we thought that we could fill the leftover Conference Show Bags with appropriate items. I visited them this week and they have said this year that they have a greater need for items as their donations are down more than ever before.

Donations

Our Village is in desperate need of New Underpants sizes 1 – 16 and also socks for the same groups. We would like to aim to fill 3 of our bags with these items.

The second aim will be to fill 3 bags with toiletries, sanitary items, nappies and wipes are also appreciated as there is always a need for these items.

If you have any single bed sheets, or your Grandchildren have grown out of their clothes and they are clean, stain free and in good condition – they will be truly appreciated

Knitting

If anyone likes knitting and doesn’t have anything to knit – Our Village will always accept knitted children’s clothing. Baby clothing is always needed

We will also try to make more blankets for delivery in May 2026, just before winter. People can make squares (Cast on 45 stitches – 8ply yarn and size 4 needles, knit until a square is achieved) or you can continue to knit on 45 stitches until 190cms is reached. Cast off.

EGG Carton Donations Please

Could I ask Rotarians to please save me their egg cartons?

My little girls are certainly being productive at the moment.

Thank you.

Linda

Grocery Items - donations please

We would like to commence a collection of Non-Perishable Grocery Items to make a pre-Christmas donation to Torquay Food Aide.
Our aim is to deliver this at the beginning of December, so it can be distributed as the needed.
Please bring your donations to Rotary Meetings at Kithbrooke, where Community Service Director Linda will collect them.

Food Safety Training

Could all those who help with any catering, including barbeques, please complete the Food Handling Topics on this link?
This is to ensure that correct food handling occurs at our barbeques and you understand why it is done

Also, we will be having a training session around setting up the trailer and its layout. This will be held on Thursday 18th September at 5pm at the Rotary Shed. I will continue to remind you about this session.
