President's Report No 1

Well Good Evening good Rotarians,

This is my very first Bulletin as your newly elected President and only 51.4 weeks to go.

Well what an afternoon we had, certainly good food, great fellowship and quite a few bottles of wine and laughter.  It was certainly an eventful one and I do hope that those of you that logged on to watch the proceedings were not deterred by the few glitches we had. Overall, we had an amazing ‘Virtual Changeover’ with the help of so many people I do not know where to start.

Thank You:
*Greg & Zac for all the Tech stuff...! who without their knowledge we would not have had such a great day.
*All the Hosts who offered their homes to Rotarians, friends, family, and special guests
*To everyone that gave up their Sunday afternoon to spend just over 2 hours helping me celebrate my Changeover.
*And of course, Maggie for doing all the running around with setting up host homes, the running sheet and all, that made today a day to truly remember.. 😘

Well done Kelly on an amazing final report, you did a brilliant job you should be incredibly pleased with yourself.  You touched on everything and gave us all something to be proud of in the way of achievements for the year, as well as yourself for leading us all the way.

And finally, a HUGE Congratulations to all the recipients of the Paul Harris Fellow:
Lesley, Brian, Greg, Rhonda, Robyn, and John Oswald
Well done to you all and all were rightly deserving of receiving this great honour, you should all be immensely proud of your achievements, Congratulations again.

Well that’s it for me for this week, short and sweet, a new one begins tomorrow…
Take care, keep safe😷 and I’ll see you all ‘zooming’ next week

President Jan 😊🏅

Interplast Fundraiser

Due to COVID, Dr John and I have been unable to get around to the Clubs to promote Interplast and the fabulous raffle for 2 Travel Vouchers, anywhere in the world,  but probably in Victoria if you want to use them in this Pandemic year!! Think of Daylesford Accommodation & Spa, The snow, High Country or Yarra Valley Wineries and stay, Luxurious Retreats, Melbourne CBD, even simulate flying a jet, or balloon ride if you’re game.

....or you are not confident enough to book a holiday the Prize may be redeemed for Cash.

I am hoping that those of you who missed out on sharing Changeover in one of the Hosts houses will purchase some tickets which are selling for $10 each.

Please give me a call and I will get the tickets to you.

With thanks and gratitude not only from myself and John, but also from the children and families for whom Interplast makes such an amazing difference.

Our Club is discussing the extent to which we support this program however in the meantime you may be interested in getting involved individually, right now.

Make-Ups......it's Never Been Easier

Here's a challenge for everyone...….in these "different" times in which we are living there are more and more Clubs now holding on-line meetings so now it's easier than it's ever been to do a make-up.smiley

You can do them from the comfort of your own home and you don't even have to get dressed up.laugh

Let's have a club challenge to see who can do a make up form the most interesting city. Be sure to grab a screen shot of your meeting and send to me for the bulletin.

What a great way to meet other Rotarians from around the world and to find out how they are living through the COVID-19 lockdowns.

To make it easy the Rotary Club of Mount Lawley in WA have begun compiling a list of Clubs who are now holding On-Line Meetings to view the list click the link below.

Good Luck with the Challenge and I

Rotary Global Rewards Program

Rotary Global Rewards, our member benefits program, offers discounts on products and services from local and global
merchants, along with opportunities to give back to Rotary.

Over 33,000 members have signed in to use Rotary Global Rewards. To raise awareness of this program, you can:
  1. Recommend Rotary Global Rewards to all club members. They can visit www.rotary.org/globalrewards from a computer or download the Rotary Club Locator App to use the program on mobile devices.
  2. Post a "Rewards" link to www.rotary.org/globalrewards on your club and district websites. This gives members easier access to Rotary Global Rewards.
  3. Encourage club members to post offers on Rotary Global Rewards.
  4. Suggest that club members help the program grow in their communities by asking local merchants to post offers.
You can find instructional videos, how-to-guides, and promotional materials on the Rotary Global Rewards page of My Rotary.  If you have any questions about the program, write to rotaryglobalrewards@rotary.org.
