Hello everyone and thanks to so many of you who came along for fish and chips at Cosy Corner last Monday. It was a perfect evening weather-wise and with so many there, a really good Rotary event.
Happy Birthday to Dorothy and Darrel. Even without a match or lighter to light the candles, it was a privilege to help celebrate your birthdays.
Night Jar Market parking – volunteers please
At our Cosy Corner gathering we asked for additional volunteers as parking attendants at Spring Creek Reserve for every Thursday this month. We need at least six parking marshals each night in case the parking volume is at capacity, as it was last Thursday (5th). A record income day for Rotary, but the five in attendance was not enough.
If you are able to help out please contact Brian Mynott directly. If we have more than needed, Brian will excuse you prior to the day.
Better we have more than six rostered and then if the volume of parking is not so large we can allow some of us to depart.
If you are not familiar with the job specification - you need to be fit enough to be on your feet directing cars and interacting with people for up to four hours.
Summarised below, some from memory, is how the roster presently looks.
If any of you rostered folk can't attend, or if any of you who are not rostered are able to come along, please contact Brian direct.
- Thurs' 12/1; B Mynott, Ben Smith, Bruce Smith, G Dawson, A Anderson, T Brown, G McNamara.
- Thurs' 19/1; B Mynott, H Randall, Ben Smith, Bruce Smith, T Brown, T Pickles, G Plumridge.
- Thurs' 26/1; B Mynott, H Randall, T Brown.

RYDA – a note and request from RYDA Geelong Committee President Wayne Pecar
Happy New Year RYDA supporters. (Rotary Youth Driver Awareness)
With both Bellarine Secondary College and Geelong Lutheran College booked to attend RYDA on Thursday February 16th, we need to get organised.
There will be a meeting for RYDA committee members and all interested Rotarians at 11am on Monday January 16th at our house at 4 Pardalote Close Point Lonsdale. I realise that a daytime meeting will not suit everyone so please let me know your preferences for future meetings and I will attempt to accommodate you.
